Karakoram highway also known as the road to Paradise is the most epic road someone would have seen. The colossal mountains along with the contrasting landscape fill one's eyes with wonders. The road has attracted people all over the world because it covers three mightiest mountain ranges of the world: the Himalayas, the Karakorum, and the Hindu Kush. The name traces back the Mongolian for Black Range when the Mongols had their great empire, after that the same name was adopted by Mughal Empire who ruled India. The construction of the high way began in 1959 and lasted for 20 years. The NewYork times reported in 1979 it took every mans life to carve a single mile on mounting terrains. Since its construction, it has provided huge economic benefits to both nations as the peace and tranquility there is envisioned by everyone. The road boosted up the trade volumes due to fast delivery provided by the highway and the bulk of fruit grown on the sidelines of the way including cherries and plums. Along with economic benefit, it also provided China great military and strategic advantage in times of conflict.

The Karakorum highway still follows the route of the ancient
Silk Road. The Pakistani section of the highway officially starts form Hassan
abdal while Chinese section starts from Kashgar. The one from Pakistan side
