Islamabad to Gilgit: the best way to travel

whether you are a local or a foreigner, you have to reach Islamabad in Pakistan first to travel to Gilgit. From here you can travel by road through many cities and towns or by air with PIA, that has two destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan, one in Gilgit city and another one is in Skardu.
1-By Air:
I have traveled to different destinations from different airports, but I have seen the most breathtaking and spectacular views from the sky while flying to Gilgit from Islamabad. It takes 45 minutes to get there. The feeling that you are flying against the highest mountains in the world and the point from where you looking at these giants mountains gives you another perspective of looking at big things. The snow-covered Giant mountains present an awe-inspiring and architectural view.
2-By Road:
what type of traveler are you? you just want to reach the destination Or you want to have some fun while traveling? It's 530 km in distance and takes ten to fourteen hours to reach Gilgit from Islamabad through Karakoram Highway NH35. KKH is now a well-carpeted road that finds many traces of historical silk route through its way, recent OBOR Project of China and one part of this project CPEC enters into Pakistan through Gilgit.
There are many travel companies who operate their services on a daily basis. you can travel by Buses, Minibusses, and Cars. NATCO is quite famous for being cheap and governmental transportation service.

Pakistan; A Must Travel Country

Have you ever been to Pakistan? No? After reading this you will definitely make a plan to travel Pakistan. I bet once you been there you would like to stay in Pakistan forever or will make plans to go again and again.
Whether it's a family trip or an adventure one, Pakistan is the best country to fulfill your travel desires with diversified rich culture, history, landscapes, plains, huge mountains, lush green meadows, jungles, lakes, and more. There are so many historical places and monuments you will see and feel like you are traveling back in time or you might feel like you are a character of some Hollywood movie.
On earth, there are only fourteen mountains with a height of above eight thousand meters and luckily Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan possesses five out of fourteen mountains (eight-thousanders). The Giants, world's second highest K2 and ninth highest Nanga Parbat, nicknamed the killer mountain (due to a high number of climber fatalities), are still remain unclimbed for so many climbers.
You will catch sight of the lush green Fairy Meadows en route to Nanga Parbat. World's second highest Plaetue Deosai Plains aka Deosai National Park, where you can find a variety of flowers and wildlife, is also located in Gilgit-Baltistan. Due to diversity in culture and religion, different kinds of festivals are celebrated on different occasions. One of the famous festivals is Shandur Polo festival, at Shandur polo ground, which is the world's highest polo ground on earth. You will surely enjoy watching freestyle polo match between the different teams from different parts of the region.
Above mentioned spots are from different areas of northern Pakistan.
When traveling from the heights of the north towards the lowland in the south, the mountains begin to shrink and more lands and major cities evolve. Each city has an interesting story about its history. Every region has its own specialties in different kinds of mouth-watering dishes and food items. Karahi, Nihari, and Biryani are quite famous among Pakistan and overseas.
Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Karachi are major cities with a congested population but with open hearts.
In hospitality, Pakistani people have no match. They are extremely loving, helpful and even people offer food and shelter to their guests for nothing.
I recommend readers to experience and explore these wonders and many more by visiting splendid Pakistan.

Pakistan in a nutshell

The land of mountains and cultural diversity, Pakistan has been ranked world's top traveling destination for 2018 by the British backpacker society. British backpacker society described Pakistan as one of the friendliest countries on earth, with the unique and most fascinating mountain scenery anywhere on earth.
Pakistan is a country in South Asia. It is the world's sixth-most populous country with a population exceeding 197 million people. In an area, it is the 33rd largest country spanning 881913 square kilometers. Pakistan has a 1045 kilometers coastline along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the south and is bordered by India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, Iran to the southwest, China in the northeast and Wakhan corridor in the northwest.
The territory now we call Pakistan was the site of several ancient cultures and once a part of the broader Indian subcontinent. Ancient history involves the Neolithic Mehrgarh and the bronze age Indus valley civilization and was later home to kingdoms ruled by people of different cultures and faiths, including Hindus, Indo-greeks, Muslims, Turco-Mongols, afghans, and Sikhs. the area has been ruled by numerous empires and dynasties, including the Persian Achaemenid Empire, Alexander III of Macedon, the Seleucid Empire, the Indian Maurya Empire, the Gupta Empire, the Arab Ummayad Caliphate, the Dehli Sultanate, the Mongol Empire, the Mughal Empire, the Afghan Durrani Empire, the Sikh Empire, and, most recently the British Empire.

Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir lie along with the Indian plate. Pakistan's Landscapes vary from plains to deserts forest hills and plateaus.
Deosai Plains are the world's second highest plains aka Deosai national park located in astore Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan is divided into three major geographic areas: the northern highlands, the Indus River plain, and the Balochistan plateau. The northern highlands contain, the Karakoram, Hindukush, and Pamir mountain ranges which contain some of the worlds highest peaks, including five of the fourteen eight-thousanders which attract mountaineers and adventurers all over from the world, notably K2(8611m) the second highest mountain on earth and the killer mountain Nanga Parbat(8126m).
